INTO gardening, crafts or baking? Then it’s time to think of your entry for Buchanan Flower Show!
There’s entry classes for all kinds of exhibits – vegetables, fruit, cut flowers and flower arrangements as well as rural industries including baking, housewifery and other crafts…not forgetting children’s sections.
Some of the classes are only open to exhibits from Buchanan residents (Buchanan Smithy to Rowardennan and Buchanan Castle Estate), but there are open classes that anyone can enter regardless of where they live.
Full details of all the classes, entry fees, rules and other information is available here. Or click the picture on the right.
The 69th annual flower show kicks off with an opening ceremony (2pm) at Buchanan Memorial Hall on Saturday 29 August. Admission to the show – which runs from 2pm to 4pm and includes afternoon tea/coffee – is £1.50 for adults and 50p for kids.
- UPDATE (20 August)…the flower show booklet has an error in the given recipe for the traybake…we’ve updated the .pdf version of programme on this website, but the hard copy programmes that have been circulated will be incorrect– the recipe should read 50g raisins (not 500g!!)
