Balfron 10k success

SCOTS swimming champ Ross Murdoch went to great lengths to inspire runners in the Mulberry Bush Montessori Balfron 10k on Sunday (24 April).

The 22-year-old University of Stirling student, who will be part of the GB swim team at the Rio Olympics this summer, offered up words of wisdom to the 600 runners before firing the starting gun at the 10th anniversary event on Sunday.

The former Balfron High School pupil wished competitors good luck and urged them to dig deep as they were cheered on by spectators over the start line.

Top results:
Men: 1. Peter Avent (33.10), 2, Iain Davies (34.16), 3. Craig Harvey (34.47).
Women: 1. Edel Mooney (37.39), Michelle Sandison (37.58), 3, Rosina Graham (39.25).
