THERE’s still time to get involved in Drymen, Croftamie & Buchanan Gala Day – the annual event that promises a fun-filled programme for all the family on Saturday 11 June.
Everyone is welcome to enjoy the fun which starts when a parade of floats and veteran cars leaves Drymen Primary School at midday and is led by a pipe band through the village to arrive at the football field half an hour later.
Dr Cheema will judge the floats and cars from the parade and the gala day will officially open at 12.30pm.
The afternoon’s events include 7-a-side football, beat the goalie, “It’s a Village Knockout”, tug-o-war and a look alike competition with entertainment throughout the afternoon from a magician, Loch Lomond Ukulele Orchestra and a pipe band.
Some of the top entries in the scarecrow competition will be on display along Stirling Road.
Food and drinks will be available all day and a range of stalls will be open from 12.30pm
Evening entertainment kicks off at 7pm with the village quiz in the Gala Day marquee at the football field which is followed by live music from The Dodgy Characters from 8.30pm ’til late.
