National Park Award for Joe

BALMAHA resident Joe Twaddle’s outstanding community service was formally recognised   last night (16 May) at a special presentation from Friends of Loch Lomond and The Trossachs.

Joe became the third winner of the Hannah Stirling National Park Award – in memory of the former Friends President who died aged 100 in November 2014 – and was presented with a quaich to mark the occasion at the Loch Lomond Arms Hotel, Luss.

At the ceremony, Friends’ chairman James Fraser spoke of Joe’s contributions – most recently relating to Balmaha’s village green improvement project and the village’s vital affordable housing plans – which make such difference for both visitors and residents in Scotland’s first National Park.
